How to Use Rosemary Hair Oil
If you have dry coarse hair, you can really benefit from using rosemary hair oil. It is an all natural treatment for damaged hair that contains no chemicals or waxes. It can smooth out frizzy hair or soften split ends and it can make most types of hair more manageable. If your hair is color treated or if you have had a perm in the last 6 months, rosemary hair oil can hold in the color and curl because it isn‘t harsh. Since it is all natural, it is gentler than most conditioners and since it contains no harsh chemicals it can be used frequently to improve the quality of the hair.
Most hair treatments that work are usually expensive. You might also have to purchase different products to achieve different things. You may need a specific type of shampoo and conditioner and a different type of leave in conditioning treatment. But rosemary hair oil can do all of these things and at a fraction of the cost. There are many ways to apply the rosemary hair oil and this all depends on your own individual problem.
When you use this hair oil as hair conditioner, you can pour a few drops into your hands and rub them together. Remember that a little oil goes a long way, so to avoid oily hair distribute the oil thoroughly. Pay close attention to the ends of your hair and rub the oil in. Allow the small amount of oil to stay in your hair for 3 minutes and then rinse the oil out.
If you will be using rosemary hair oil to remove dandruff, part your hair and apply the oil directly to the scalp. Keep making parts and adding the solution until your entire scalp is soaked in the oil. Leave it on for a full 30 minutes and shampoo as usual. It helps to use a mild shampoo that does not contain heavy perfumes or a strong cleanser. You can use a conditioner but only apply it to the ends of your hair.
To smooth out frizzy hair you can add a few drops of oil to a half cup of water. Pour it into a plastic bottle with a squirt function and shake the solution up. Spray the mix on toweled dried, freshly shampooed hair. Do not spray a lot of the solution by the scalp or bangs because this can make the hair appear oily. Only add it to back of the hair, close to the ends. Comb the mixture through the hair and allow it to air dry to reduce the frizz and emphasize the curl.
For an extreme rosemary hair oil treatment, you will need to use a bit more of the oil. Pour the oil into your hand and rub your hands together. Distribute the solution all over the hair and cover it with a snug fitting plastic cap. You will want to keep the oil in your hair for at least 6 hours but it might be a better idea to sleep with the cap on. This way in the morning you can remove the cap and wash your hair as usual. Use a gentle cleaning shampoo and a light conditioner after this process.
To refresh curly hair that has been exposed to humidity, you can put a mix of water and rosemary hair oil into a small spray bottle. Carry the mixture with you so that you will be ready for humidity or drying heat.
This hair oil does not have a typical hair conditioner scent. It isn’t a bad fragrance but you can enhance it if you want to. Put a few drops of scented oil into the mix and this will make the aroma more tolerable.
